Traditions of the Kindred

The First Tradition: The Masquerade

Thou shall not reveal thy true nature to those not of the blood. Doing such shall renounce thy claims of blood.

Do not expose the real existence of vampires on pain of Final Death.

The Second Tradition: Domain

Thy Domain is thine own concern. All others owe thee respect while in it. None may challenge thy word while in thy Domain.

The Prince of the city has ultimate authority.

The Third Tradition: Progeny

Thou shall only Sire another with the permission of thine elder. If thou createst another without thine Elders leave, both thou and thy Progeny shall be slain.

No vampire may create another without the permission of the Prince.

The Fourth Tradition: The Accounting

Those thou create are thine own children.. Until thy Progeny shall be released, thou shall command them in all things. Their sins are thine to endure.

A neonate is the responsibility of his Sire until Recognised by the Prince. A neonate without a Sire to teach him shall be appointed a Mentor by the Keeper of the Elysium. The tuition period is a minimum of six months.

The punishments for crimes committed by a neonate are dealt to his Sire or Mentor. The neonate shall be destroyed at the will of the Prince.

If deemed ready, the Sire or Mentor shall bring the neonate before the Prince, or other acknowledged authority of the Camarilla. If that authority is satisfied that the neonate is ready, the neonate shall be awarded the Status of Recognised. If the authority is not satisfied, discretionary punishments may be applied to Mentor or the neonate.

If accepted, the vampire shall receive the protection of the Prince afforded to members of his own domain and receives permission to feed within the Prince's domain. Permission may be granted for extended stays and the right to no longer have to present oneself to this Prince upon subsequent visits.
